Internetworking II
(FHSU Concurrent Credit Required)
This course will explore the fundamental application of data
communications concepts for the interconnection of multiple
local area networks. It provides the student with a strong
theoretical and practical knowledge base for networking
design and development. Students will study key
characteristics of common wide-area networks (WANs), the
roles of routers in WANs, the purpose and operation of router
IOS, confi guration of routers, and administrative function of
routers. A student will also learn to use Layer 3 through Layer
7 protocols to establish, test, or disconnect remote devices.
This is the second of three courses that prepare students for
the Net+ (vender neutral) and CCNA (Cisco specifi c) industry
certifi cation examinations.
