FHSU - College Algebra
(FHSU Concurrent Credit Required)
College Algebra includes the study of the following topics:
absolute value, inequalities, linear and quadratic equations,
complex numbers, binomial formula, equations of lines,
exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations and
inequalities, functions and the theory of equations. Students
planning to enroll in College Algebra should enroll in the fi rst
semester of Functions, Statistics, and Trigonometry to secure
background in statistical functions or College Algebra Prep
fall semester.
Fee: FHSU tuition for concurrent credit (3hrs.).
Grade: 12
Prerequisite: Required by the FHSU Department of
Mathematics: Advanced Algebra II and one of the following: a
score of at least 15 on the FHSU mathematics placement exam,
or ACT Math and Science total of at least 40 with neither score
below 18, or ACT PROFILE prediction for ‘C or better’ in
College Algebra of at least .50.
Semester: 1/2 credit
