Advanced Weight Training
This course is designed to maximize speed, quickness,
strength, and explosive power through weightlifting, strength
training, and plyometrics. Most students will use this class to
supplement physical activity such as athletics or
competitive weightlifting and/or power lifting. The program is
based around certain core lifts as well as sport-specifi c auxiliary
lifts. Evaluation is based on attendance, participation, effort,
attitude, and profi ciency.
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation
Semester: 1/2 credit
Supplies: Appropriate PE clothing, personal lock
