Advanced Field Biology/
Environmental Science (QAR)
Advanced Field Biology/Environmental Science is a course
intended to provide the student with an overview of human
impacts on ecosystems. Students will acquire knowledge about
the physical and biological processes that structure the world
and examine how human activities alter those processes.
Kansas plant and animal resources will be identified and their
relationships examined. As a GLOBE school, environmental
research protocols will be implemented. Students will collect,
analyze, and submit information to databases in an attempt to
understand the impact of humans on ecosystems.
*Students may enroll in fall semester or all year.
Grades: 11, 12
Prerequisites: Biology or concurrent enrollment in Biology, or
Biology Applied
Semester/Year: 1/2 credit / 1 credit
Supplies: Composition notebook will be purchased at
enrollment. Black pen, 3" 3-ring notebook, notebook section
dividers, 81/2 X11 card stock 2 “AA” batteries
