Advanced Physics (QAR)
(FHSU Concurrent Credit Optional)
Richness in life is not only seeing the world with wideopen
eyes, but also in knowing where to look. The ideas of
motion, forces, energy, matter, sound, light and electricity
provide some of the fundamental concepts upon which
other sciences are built. Your analytical & problemsolving
skills will be strengthened immensely throughout
this course, attributes which are highly desired by
employers and undergraduate programs, and emphasized
on standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT. You’ll
design and perform experiments using more sophisticated
equipment, investigate statistical anomalies, and narrow
down sources of error. You’ll be following the logic and
observations of some of the world’s greatest intellects:
Galileo, Copernicus, Dalton, Maxwell, Einstein, Schrodinger,
Goeppert-Mayer, and Feynmann, to name a few. Twentyfive
percent of the Medical College Admissions Test
consists of physics applications and concepts, so most
medical fields require at least one semester of college
physics. This physics class is designed to prepare future
science- or health/medicine students for such courses.
Fee: FHSU tuition for concurrent credit (3hrs.).
