Chemistry II Honors (QAR)
(FHSU Concurrent Credit Optional)
Chemistry II Honors topics include: pH, equilibrium, nuclear
chemistry, solutions, oxidation-reduction reactions. The
course will be structured around thematic units that apply to
our society and environment. These thematic topics will
include: Energy (petroleum and carbon chemistry, biofuels,
nuclear energy, electrical energy) and global climatic change
(atmospheric chemistry, carbon dioxide, acid rain, ozone). Class
discussions and assignments will include the scientific
principles, current events, and analysis of social and political
impact of scientific understanding.
Fee: FHSU tuition for concurrent credit (3hrs.).
Grades: 11, 12
Prerequisite: Chemistry I Honors or Chemistry I with teacher
recommendation.
Year: 1 credit
