Organizational structure - Membership is open to all parents, faculty, businesses and friends who support academic achievement.  Dues will be established by the Executive committee.  Executive Committee is established at the spring general meeting and consists of: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure and school administrator. Executive meetings called by the President as needed and 5 general meetings per year.  Support committees will be formed as necessary for the various functions. Any proposed change to by-laws should be submitted to and/or formulated by the Executive Committee.  Approval shall be by majority vote of the currently paid members present at the next general meeting.

 

Purpose: To promote academic excellence for all member of the student body by providing formal recognition to high achievers in individual areas as well as overall achievement. Specific recognition programs will be determined yearly by the organization.

 

Academic Athletic Award: During the Hays City Shootout, awards are presented to the male athletes, female athletes, and cheerleader from each team with the highest GPA.

Breakfast for Champions: At the end of the first three nine-weeks, refreshments are served to all honor students (3.0 and above) during seminar. Sponsered by the Kiwanis Club.

Congratulatory Notes: Notes are sent to any student who improves from a 2.0 GPA. The notes are sent after the second and third nine-weeks.

Academic Hall of Fame: Recognizes students for oustanding achievements in the IOWA standarized test, ACT, and the Kansas Assesments.
