Instructional Technology Coordinator
The Instructional Technology Coordinator helps assist teachers in technology training and integration of technology into the classroom. The Instructional Technology Coordinator postion was created in June 2004 and was primarily responsible for staff development at HHS. As Hays High teachers became more comfortable with technology in the classroom, the Instructional Technology Coordinator was then responsible for assisting teachers throughout the district.
Job Description
1. Core teachers implementing technology at the tested levels and courses for early intervention for KS Assessments.
- Curriculum management tools & software
- Academies integration with Technology & SIP
2. Implement technology with interventions and activities from the SIP using Marzano’s 9, Thinking Maps, IDEAL.
3. Train staff in the use of hardware, software and peripherals as needed.
- Bring vision and take the initiative with staff development.
- Set up training for new staff and individual needs.
- Establish a rotation for essential training and schedule individual sessions with teachers on their planning periods.
- Use gold meetings and district staff development days for in-service that’s aligned with the vision and mission.
- Establish site for teacher resources.
Skills
- Coordinate instructional technology related in-services, develop trainers within existing district staff, design and deliever advanced workshops, and locate training resources outside of the school system as needed.
- Coordinate ongoin development and implementation of USD 489's District Technology Plan.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
